LOWER MARION VELEZ (PA-E) 4 COASTAL THUNDER (ME) 2

The U16 Boys Coastal Thunder made a valiant effort in the US Youth Region 1 Championships. They played Lower Marion Velez to a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation. The score at the end of overtime had not changed so the U16 Boys championship and a ticket to the US Youth Soccer National Championship all hinged on the result of penalty kicks.

Lower Marion Velez connected on more PK's and advanced to the National Championships with a 4-2 victory.

Even though The Coastal Thunder did not become the first team to represent Maine at the US Youth Soccer National Championships, they represented Maine well as the U16 Boys State Championships. Congratulations on a great season!

LOWER MARION VELEZ (PA-E) 4 COASTAL THUNDER (ME) 3 TSF ACADEMY CELTIC 2

The U16 Boys Coastal Thunder advanced to the US Youth Soccer Region 1 Championship Finals with a 3-1 victory over TSF Academy Celtic from New Jersey.

The team will take on Lower Marion Velez (Eastern Pennsylvania) for the U16 Region 1 Championship at 10AM at Bowdoin College today.

COASTAL THUNDER (ME) 1 FREESTATE ELITE (MD) 1

The U16 Boys Coastal Thunder played to a 1-1 tie against Freestate Elite of Maryland which put the two teams into a two way tie at the top of Pool C. The teams were also tied on the first tie-breaker, they both nine goals for, and two goals against. The Coastal Thunder advance to the semifinals on the second tie-breaker, a comparison of scores from each game.

The U16 Boys Coastal Thunder kept their Championship hopes alive today with a 1-1 tie against Frestate Elite from Maryland. Both teams are now tied for first place in Pool C action.

COASTAL THUNDER (ME) 6 BAYSIDE FC 1

The U16 Boys Coastal Thunder opened the US Youth Soccer Region 1 Championships with a commanding 6-1 victory against Bayside FC from Rhode Island.
