WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Bates College men's cross country

Division III New England Regional Championships, led by
sophomore Devin Dilts' All-New England performance.
Bates scored 330 points,
topping such competition as 14th-place Springfield (370) and
15th-place Wesleyan (380). Williams won the team competition
with 36 points, led by overall titlist Edgar Kosgey
(25:52.7).

the top 35 finishers, was junior Doug Brecher (Waban, Mass.)
who placed 36th in a time of 27:08.7.
Sophomore Tom Esponette
(Auburn, Maine) came in next for the Bobcats, placing 73rd
in a time of 27:51.8, his personal-best time on an 8K course
by about 40 seconds, according to head coach Al Fereshetian.
