BOSTON -- Sophomore Devin Dilts led the
Bates College
men's cross country team to 31st place out of 47 teams from
all NCAA divisions Saturday at the Open New England
Championships at Franklin Park.
Dilts (Roscoe, Ill.) covered
the 5-mile course in 26:00, good for 79th place out of 316
competitors overall.
First-year Troy Calandra (San
Francisco, Calif.) followed with a 97th-place time of 26:13.
Rounding out Bates' top seven were sophomore Thomas
Esponette (Auburn, Maine) in 27:02, first-year Peter
Corcoran (Stillwater, Minn.) in 27:19, first-year Sean
Colligan (Goffstown, N.H.) in 27:22, senior Dillon Tung
(South Pasadena, Calif.) in 27:44 and first-year Ben Chebot
(Newton, Mass.) in 28:43.
Bates next competes at the
State of Maine Championships, hosted by Southern Maine at
Twin Brook Recreation Area in Cumberland.
