Bates in volleyball, 3-1

LEWISTON, Maine --
Tufts
University rebounded from dropping the third set to
notch a 3-1 (25-17, 25-9, 22-25, 25-11) victory over host
Bates College in
NESCAC
volleyball on Friday night at
Alumni Gymnasium.
The loss drops the Bobcats to 3-5 overall and 0-1 in
NESCAC
play, while the Jumbos move to 7-0, 1-0 in conference.
Bates' third-set
win was only the second set the Jumbos have dropped this
season.
Caitlin Updike led Tufts with 12 kills, while Lexi Nicholas
chipped in with 9 kills and 2 blocks. Natalie Goldstein
collected 27 digs, and Dena Feiger dished out 34 assists.
Liz Leberman and Olivia Schow shared the Bobcats' team lead
with 7 kills apiece; Leberman added 12 digs and Schow had 2
blocks. Other leaders for Bates included Avery Masters with
5 kills, Grace Haessler with 22 assists, Chrissy Gee with 2
service aces and Kira Kramlich with 7 digs.
Bates will host
Amherst College
tomorrow at 12 p.m., and
Tufts
will play
Colby at
Bates tomorrow
at 3 p.m.
