MacCallum, Pike Earn GNAC Honors

STANDISH, ME – The
Great
Northeast Athletic Conference has announced the
weekly honors for the September 14th-21st reporting
period and two
Saint Joseph's
men’s soccer players, Will Pike ‘10 (Gorham,
ME) and Doug MacCallum ‘10 (Hingham, MA), have been
recognized.
MacCallum is the
GNAC Men’s
Soccer Player of the Week after scoring three goals last
week for Coach Bancroft’s side. He tallied both SJC
goals in a 2-0 win over
Daniel
Webster College on September 18th and notched the
lone Monks tally in a 1-1 tie against
Norwich University on September 20th.
MacCallum leads
St Joe's with
four goals and nine points on the season.

Pike receives the
GNAC Men’s
Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week award after playing a
significant role in a 2-0-1 week for the Monks. For the
week the junior made 23 saves and allowed just two goals
in 290 minutes of play. Pike recorded his second shutout
of the season against
Daniel
Webster on September 18th and made 12 saves in a 1-1
tie against regionally-ranked
Norwich on September 20th.
Pike has been solid in net
so far this season for the Monks with 47 saves, a 1.21
goals against average, an .839 save percentage and a
pair of shutouts in seven matches. The junior keeper has
made 36 saves and allowed just three goals in his last
489 minutes of play.
The
Saint Joseph's
College men’s soccer team is currently 2-3-2 overall and 0-1-1
in conference play.
