Gabby Cyr Named LEC Runner of the Week
Women’s College Cross Country

GORHAM, Maine -- University of Southern Maine senior Gabby Cyr (Fort Kent, Maine) has been selected as the Little East Conference women’s cross country Runner of the Week for her performance last Saturday at the Pop Crowell Invitational held at Gordon College.

Jonathan Harper, commissioner for the Little East, made the announcement Monday afternoon.
 

Cyr placed third overall among the 276 finishers at the Pop Crowell Invitational. She covered the five kilometer course in a time of 18 minutes, 52 seconds. Cyr helped the Huskies to a ninth place finish (262 points) in the field of 25 teams.
 

This is the third time this season that Cyr has been picked as the LEC Runner of the Week. She previously was honored on September 15 and September 22.
 

Southern Maine travels to Bristol, R.I., this Saturday (11:00 a.m.) for the Roger Williams University Invitational.
