Two St. Joe’s Swimmers Win Weekly Awards
Piers & D'Ascanio Honored by GNAC

STANDISH, ME - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has
announced their first winter season weekly award honorees,
and St. Joe's, in the team's first season of existence, has
two names on the Swimming docket.
JR Ashton Piers
(Falmouth, ME) has been named the GNAC
Swimmer of the Week for her stellar performance in the Regis
College meet held on Sunday, 11/18. Piers achieved three
personal firsts and one relay first in the non-conference
event.
FY Lindsay
D'Ascanio (Kennebunk, ME) was also honored
by the GNAC, earning the Rookie Swimmer of the Week honor
for her excellent performance in the Regis College meet.
D'Ascanio achieved two relay firsts and two personal firsts
in the meet.
Piers earned 38 points for the squad and achieved three
individual firsts in the 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard
breaststroke and 200-yard IM as well as being part of the
winning 200-yard medley relay team. Ashton achieved an A
qualifying time in the 50-yard breaststroke and a B
qualifying time in the 100- yard breaststroke.
D’Ascanio was also part of the 200-yard medley relay team as
well as the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team. Lindsay
earned personal firsts in the 100-yard butterfly and the
500-yard freestyle races. In all, she tallied 40 points in
the winning effort and an A qualifying time in the 500-yard
freestyle.
