HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates
College juniors Kyle McAllister and Bill Jennings both
earned All-NESCAC Football Team honors on Tuesday as the
New England Small College Athletics Conference named its
2008 All-Conference teams. McAllister earned First Team
All-Conference honors at defensive back, while Jennings
was chosen the kick return specialist on the Second
Team. It is the first All-NESCAC postseason award for
both players.

The
Junior Eagles started off winning the toss but that is
as far as the winning went as Saco completed passes to
defeat Windham 20-0. Windham was forced to punt on its
first possession. Saco wasted no time and went to the
air and scored. The Eagle defense got together and
stopped the two point conversion attempt.

Saco-Windham made significant adjustments to defeat the
Junior Trojans 27-12 in SMYFL action today.
Additionally, Windham sealed home field playoff
advantage in the playoffs with its win today. Both
teams had done plenty of scouting of each other so
nothing was a secret on the field. However, Windham’s
powerful lines coupled with its ability to put together
well blocking running attacks put the game in their
favor.

ORONO, Maine – The honors continued to mount Tuesday for
University of Maine senior defensive end Jovan Belcher
(West Babylon, N.Y.), as he was named The Sports
Network’s FCS National Defensive Player of the Week. The
national honor comes on the heels of Belcher’s CAA
player-of-the-week award on Monday. The Sports Network
is the same news agency that runs the voting for the
Buck Buchanan Award, which is given annually to the
nation’s most outstanding defensive player at the FCS
level.
